Alfa Romeo Unveils Final Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa Edition
Edited by: Tetiana Pin
Alfa Romeo has concluded the lifecycle of its current-generation Giulia Quadrifoglio with the debut of the limited-edition Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. This final iteration serves as a high-point tribute ahead of the model line's transition to an electrified crossover/SUV format. The vehicle marks the inaugural product from Bottegafuoriserie, a new joint custom division established between Alfa Romeo and Maserati, headquartered in Milan under the oversight of Cristiano Fiorio, who reports to Alfa Romeo CEO and Maserati COO Santo Ficili.
The Luna Rossa edition features extensive aerodynamic modifications directly inspired by the Luna Rossa AC75 racing yacht, reflecting the partnership between Alfa Romeo and the Luna Rossa team for the 38th America's Cup. The low-drag carbon fiber kit includes front bumper appendages, underbody profiles, dedicated side skirts, and a dual-profile rear wing. This package is engineered to generate approximately 140 kilograms of downforce at 300 km/h, a figure roughly five times that of the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio, though the top speed remains officially cited at 300 km/h.
Mechanically, the special series retains the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which the creators have recalibrated to produce 520 horsepower, mated to a mechanical self-locking differential. The auditory experience is enhanced by a specialized Akrapovič exhaust system. Production of the Luna Rossa edition is strictly limited to just 10 units globally, and reports indicate the model has already sold out to collectors before its official premiere in Hall 5 of the Brussels Motor Show.
Exterior styling emphasizes the maritime inspiration with an iridescent gray paint finish mirroring the Luna Rossa hull, contrasted by a black 'boat deck' finish on the bonnet, roof, and rear sections. For the first time on this model, the traditional Alfa Romeo emblems are rendered in red. Inside, the cabin features Sparco sports seats upholstered with materials and graphics derived from the Personal Flotation Devices worn by the Luna Rossa crew, and actual sailcloth from an AC75 yacht is incorporated into a section of the dashboard trim.
This unveiling definitively closes the chapter on the current Giulia platform, which utilized the Giorgio architecture. The next-generation Giulia is set for a strategic pivot into the crossover/SUV segment, adopting electrified powertrains based on the Stellantis STLA Large platform. CEO Santo Ficili confirmed the successor will feature a multi-energy lineup, accommodating both electric and hybrid configurations alongside internal combustion options. The Bottegafuoriserie division aims to deepen the shared roots of Alfa Romeo and Maserati through bespoke creations and personalization.
