Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has strategically broadened its dedicated XPRES fleet lineup, introducing new Petrol and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) versions of its sedan to establish a comprehensive multi-powertrain offering. This expansion moves beyond the previously exclusive electric configuration, the Xpres-T EV model, signaling a pragmatic approach to capture a wider segment of the commercial mobility sector. Bookings for these newly introduced Tata XPRES Petrol and CNG models officially commenced on January 23, 2026, through authorized fleet dealerships.

The pricing for the new variants is calibrated for the high-utilization commercial segment. The starting ex-showroom price in Delhi is set at INR 5.59 lakh for the petrol variant and INR 6.59 lakh for the CNG model. Both new versions utilize Tata Motors' established 1.2-litre Revotron engine, exclusively paired with a manual transmission, a configuration engineered to meet the stringent durability and high-uptime demands of intensive fleet operations. The petrol engine is rated at 86 horsepower and 113 Newton-meters of torque, while the CNG version is tuned to produce 75.5 horsepower and 95 Newton-meters of torque.

Operational economics are central to the launch, with Tata Motors asserting a highly competitive running cost for fleet purchasers, estimated to be approximately INR 0.47 per kilometer. To support this, the company provides a standard warranty of three years or 1,00,000 kilometers, with an option for fleet owners to extend coverage up to five years or 1,80,000 kilometers. This support package aims to reduce the total cost of ownership for operators navigating the competitive Indian taxi market, which is estimated to be worth USD 23.98 billion in 2026.

A notable engineering feature, particularly for the CNG model, is the segment-first 70-litre twin-cylinder CNG tank arrangement, representing the largest water capacity in its class. This innovative packaging addresses cargo space concerns by allowing the XPRES CNG to retain 227 liters of usable boot space. In contrast, the XPRES Petrol variant offers a substantial 419 liters of cargo volume, providing the largest boot space among its petrol fleet sedan competitors. Standard safety provisions across the 2026 models include dual front airbags, and the CNG variant incorporates an intelligent leak detection system that automatically switches operation to petrol mode if a gas leak is sensed.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles is backing this expanded portfolio with dedicated, exclusive fleet-focused dealerships in select metropolitan areas. This infrastructure is intended to ensure reduced turnaround times and improved vehicle availability for high-volume segments such as ride-hailing services, airport transfers, and tourist taxis. This strategic deployment positions the XPRES badge to address commercial mobility needs across electric, petrol, and CNG platforms, directly engaging a market where ride-hailing services already account for over 65% of the service type share.
