Anthropic Launches Interactive MCP Apps for Enterprise Workflow Integration
Edited by: Veronika Radoslavskaya
On January 26, 2026, Anthropic announced the deployment of interactive enterprise tool integrations within the Claude AI interface. These new capabilities, powered by MCP Apps, allow users to interact with external business software directly from the Claude conversation window on web and desktop platforms. The rollout marks a shift for Claude from a conversational assistant to an active agent capable of executing tasks across established software ecosystems.
Powered by Model Context Protocol
The functionality is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source standard introduced by Anthropic to streamline the connection between AI systems and external data or tools. By using MCP, Claude can access and manipulate data within third-party applications without requiring users to switch between different tabs or windows.
To ensure industry-wide interoperability and vendor neutrality, Anthropic previously donated the MCP protocol to the Agentic AI Foundation under the Linux Foundation in December 2025. This move has encouraged broader adoption; while several platforms already support the standard, industry reports indicate that OpenAI has also moved toward adopting MCP for the ChatGPT ecosystem.
Key Tool Integrations
The initial rollout includes native support for a suite of major enterprise platforms. Users can now perform tasks within several ecosystems, including:
- Project Management & Collaboration: Creating and managing tasks in Asana and searching for context or drafting communication in Slack.
- Design & Documentation: Interacting with creative workflows in Canva and Figma, as well as querying document repositories in Box.
- Sales & Data: Retrieving information and managing outreach via Clay.
Anthropic also confirmed that a deeper integration with Salesforce, branded as "Agentforce 360," is planned for a future release.
Availability
Interactive MCP Apps are currently available to subscribers on Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise tiers. By integrating these tools directly into the chat interface, Anthropic aims to reduce the productivity "drag" associated with frequent application switching, allowing users to maintain focus within a single workflow.
