Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah Sites in Southern Lebanon Amid Rising Tensions

Israeli airstrikes have targeted sites in southern Lebanon, reportedly aiming at Hezbollah infrastructure. The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed casualties, including fatalities and injuries, resulting from these attacks. The Israeli military stated that the operations were conducted in response to alleged violations of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah, which has been in place since November 2024. These developments have heightened regional tensions and raised concerns about the stability of the ceasefire.
In response to the escalating situation, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has called for the disarmament of all armed groups, including Hezbollah, urging them to surrender their weapons to the Lebanese Army. This appeal comes amid increasing international pressure and ongoing discussions about Lebanon's security and sovereignty. Hezbollah has expressed resistance to disarmament, emphasizing the group's role in Lebanon's defense and its stance against Israeli actions in the region.
The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, advocating for dialogue and peaceful resolutions to prevent further escalation and to ensure the stability and security of Lebanon and the broader region.
