XREAL Unveils AR Glasses 1S at CES 2026 Featuring Real 3D Capability

San Francisco-based technology firm XREAL officially debuted its latest augmented reality (AR) eyewear, the XREAL 1S, during the CES 2026 event held in Las Vegas. This new product serves as a mid-generation refresh building upon the foundation laid by the original XREAL One series, first introduced in 2024. The launch underscores XREAL's ongoing commitment to making advanced AR technology more accessible, achieved through the utilization of proprietary optics and lighter structural designs.
The XREAL 1S headset incorporates dual micro-OLED displays manufactured by Sony. These screens boast an enhanced resolution, moving up from the standard 1080p to a sharper 1200p, while maintaining the familiar 16:10 aspect ratio. Peak brightness has also seen an improvement, reaching 700 nits, which represents a 100-nit increase over the base XREAL One model. Supporting refresh rates up to 120 Hz, the device allows users to experience content projected onto a massive virtual screen that can measure up to 500 inches diagonally. It is important to note that the XREAL 1S is not a standalone unit; it requires a physical connection to an external source via a USB Type-C port for operation. Weighing in at a mere 82 grams, the glasses feature integrated Bose audio speakers with noise-cancellation technology built directly into the temples.
The headline feature distinguishing the XREAL 1S is the introduction of the Real 3D function. This capability is powered by the newly integrated XREAL X1 spatial chip, which is touted as the world's first co-processor specifically designed for spatial computing tasks. This dedicated hardware allows the glasses to dynamically convert standard two-dimensional content—including films, video games, and photographs—into a stereoscopic three-dimensional format in real time. Furthermore, XREAL announced that this same 3D conversion functionality is being extended to existing users of the XREAL One Pro model via a recently deployed software update.
In terms of market availability, the XREAL 1S is immediately open for pre-orders with a price tag set at 449 US dollars, positioning it below the launch cost of its predecessor. Alongside the glasses, XREAL introduced a complementary peripheral: the XREAL Neo. This accessory functions as a hybrid hub, doubling as a substantial 10,000 mAh external battery pack and a DisplayPort adapter. Priced at 99 US dollars, the Neo accessory ensures full compatibility and necessary power for portable gaming consoles, such as the Nintendo Switch, effectively eliminating the need for the console's original docking station. The Neo hub supports rapid charging capabilities up to 40W and can recharge itself at speeds of up to 60W.
These simultaneous hardware and software introductions signal a significant push by XREAL to broaden the utility of their AR platform. By enhancing visual fidelity and introducing real-time 3D processing, the company aims to bridge the gap between immersive AR experiences and everyday media consumption. The focus on lightweight design and accessible pricing continues to be a cornerstone of their strategy in the competitive wearables market.
