Samsung has officially introduced two new tablets, the Galaxy Tab A11 and the Galaxy Tab A11+, expanding its lineup in the budget-friendly sector for work and entertainment in 2025. These new devices adopt the design language seen in Samsung's flagship Galaxy S11 series and the premium Tab S11 line, giving them a sophisticated look. The standard Galaxy Tab A11 is already rolling out to various markets, including India, where it is priced starting at 12,999 Indian Rupees for the model equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Consumers can expect the larger A11+ variant to become available later in 2025.
Diving into the specifications, the entry-level Galaxy Tab A11 features an 8.7-inch IPS display. This screen boasts an HD+ resolution of 1340x800 pixels and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate marks a noticeable upgrade, delivering significantly smoother visuals compared to its 2023 predecessor, the Galaxy Tab A9. Powering the tablet is the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, built on a 6-nm process. For endurance, it houses a 5100 mAh battery supporting 15W fast charging. A welcome feature for many users, the 3.5mm audio jack remains intact. Camera capabilities include an 8MP autofocus main sensor and a 5MP front-facing camera, an improvement over the 2MP sensor found in the Tab A9. Furthermore, both new models support expandable storage via microSD cards up to 2TB.
A defining feature that sets the A11 series apart is Samsung's commitment to longevity through software support. The company promises a full seven years of operating system updates and security patches. This ambitious policy theoretically ensures the devices remain current and secure until the Android 22 release cycle. The Galaxy Tab A11 ships running Android 15 overlaid with One UI 7.0. In contrast, the higher-tier A11+ is slated to launch with One UI 8.0, based on Android 16. This new software iteration, developed in collaboration with Google, is set to deeply integrate Gemini AI capabilities, aiming to personalize user experiences and optimize overall performance.
The Galaxy Tab A11+ offers several enhancements over the base model. It sports a larger 11-inch display, also featuring the 90Hz refresh rate. Its battery capacity is substantially bigger at 7,040 mAh, paired with faster 25W charging support. Perhaps the most significant addition for this price bracket is the inclusion of Samsung DeX mode, a productivity feature previously reserved for flagship devices. While the exact scope of DeX implementation on the A11+ is still being detailed, even enhanced on-screen multitasking capabilities represent a major leap forward for affordable tablets. Both the A11 and A11+ are equipped with stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos audio technology.
Overall, the Galaxy Tab A11 series, anchored by the efficient Helio G99 chipset, is being positioned as a highly competitive offering. It successfully balances modern display technology with a high refresh rate, industry-leading software support duration, and essential productivity features, all packaged within an accessible form factor for the mainstream consumer.
