The AOTOS L2 merges personal electric mobility with carry-on luggage, specifically targeting efficiency challenges within large 2025 travel hubs such as airports and major train stations. This 20-inch unit allows travelers to alternate between conventional pulling and riding, facilitating expedited movement between distant gates and mitigating delays caused by tight connection schedules.

Constructed for durability, the device features a hard shell made from ABS+PC material, reinforced by an integrated aluminum alloy frame capable of supporting a maximum load of 242 pounds, or approximately 110 kilograms. Despite integrating electric components, the L2 maintains standard carry-on compliance and offers a substantial 31-liter internal storage volume. Security features include robust clasps and an integrated combination lock, with the design deliberately omitting traditional zippers for enhanced protection. The unit's base weight, excluding the power source, is approximately 17.3 pounds (7.8 kilograms), representing a design trade-off favoring enhanced mobility.

Propulsion is managed by a 200W motor located in the front wheel, enabling a controlled maximum speed of 6.2 mph, or 10 km/h, suitable for navigating large transit areas. Safety mechanisms include an electric, recuperative braking system and a reverse function activated by a dual-button press on the control interface. Steering is achieved via a telescoping handlebar that houses the throttle and a dedicated brake button, while retractable footrests support the riding posture.

The power system centers on a detachable lithium-ion battery pack rated at 37V and 2.5Ah, totaling approximately 92.5 Watt-hours (Wh). This rating is crucial as it remains below the 100 Wh limit mandated by both the FAA and IATA for carriage in passenger cabins, addressing a key regulatory consideration for smart luggage. The battery also functions as a portable power bank via a single USB-A output (5V/2A) for recharging personal electronics, requiring three to four hours for a full recharge cycle.

Advanced functionality is accessible through Bluetooth integration with the AOTOS App, which delivers real-time telemetry, including speed, battery life, and range data. The application also enables remote control maneuvering via a joystick interface. While the design incorporates 4-inch solid tires for surface grip, some analysis suggests the tall, narrow profile may present a tipping risk during sharp turns at speed. The AOTOS L2 is positioned as a premium accessory, balancing marginal weight considerations against significant gains in personal mobility within the evolving context of global travel logistics.
