Rosalía Recording ‘LUX’ in 13 Languages: “Every Word On this Album I Fought For”

Catalan vocalist Rosalía has officially unveiled details regarding her highly anticipated fourth studio album, titled *Lux*. The record is scheduled for release on November 7, 2025, under the banner of Columbia Records. This monumental undertaking comprises eighteen compositions meticulously organized into four distinct acts, functioning as musical chapters. Through this structure, Rosalía aims to delve deeply into the transcendental aspect of sound, seamlessly fusing the innovative edge of experimental pop with the rich, foundational heritage of classical music.

The creation of *Lux* was an exhaustive process, spanning nearly three years and marking it as the artist's most extensive and ambitious creative endeavor to date. The project required significant classical resources, featuring contributions from the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra, which was expertly conducted by Daniel Bjarnason. Further elevating the album's classical dimension and sonic complexity, the intricate orchestral arrangements were crafted by the celebrated Pulitzer Prize winner, Caroline Shaw.

The album boasts an impressive and diverse roster of guest vocalists and musicians, underscoring its international scope. Noteworthy collaborators include the iconic Icelandic artist Björk, alongside Portuguese Fado star Carminho, Spanish flamenco legend Estrella Morente, and vocalist Sílvia Pérez Cruz. Significantly, the project also features the group Yahritza y su Esencia, marking Rosalía's inaugural international collaboration with a Mexican artist, bridging distinct musical traditions.

In a strong statement regarding artistic integrity and process, the singer made a point of stressing that absolutely no artificial intelligence was utilized during the production of *Lux*. She affirmed that every single note, rhythmic pattern, and sonic element originated solely from the genuine, live interaction of the musicians. Rosalía described this intensely collaborative and human process powerfully as being "like a prayer in motion," emphasizing the spiritual and organic nature of the recording.

The aesthetic presentation of *Lux* is deeply symbolic, reflecting the album’s themes of purity and enlightenment. The album cover depicts Rosalía clad in white monastic robes, an image chosen explicitly to represent themes of inner light and spiritual purification. The visual launch of the album was a spectacular public event held on Madrid's Gran Vía. Rosalía orchestrated a massive light show where the facades of the surrounding buildings were dramatically transformed into a luminous temple, visually echoing the powerful, complex orchestral impulses contained within her new body of work.

The public received its first taste of the album on October 27 with the release of the lead single, “Berghain.” This complex, multilayered composition immediately captured attention due to its linguistic diversity. It is unique in that it is performed across three languages—Spanish, English, and German—and features the distinct, interwoven vocal contributions of both the aforementioned Björk and the experimental artist Yves Tumor, creating a rich sonic tapestry.

According to Rosalía, the spiritual and thematic depth of *Lux* is further revealed through its lyrical structure and dedication to feminine history. She stated that each of the fourteen distinct language parts present on the album is intended to symbolize the life story of a specific female saint, collectively embodying various facets of feminine mysticism and transformation throughout history.

For collectors and dedicated fans, the physical formats—CD and vinyl—will offer substantial added value. These editions will be rewarded with three exclusive bonus tracks: *«Focu ’ranni»*, *«Jeanne»*, and *«Novia Robot»*. Conversely, the standard digital version of the album will be slightly abbreviated to maintain thematic focus, containing a total of fifteen compositions.

The world premiere of the album in a live setting is scheduled for the same day as its release, November 7, at the LOS40 Music Awards Santander. *Lux* is slated to be presented not merely as a collection of tracks, but as a cohesive, complete stage work—an immersive orchestral confession focused on the profound, universal themes of light, silence, and the resilience of the female soul.
