Mercedes-Benz Unveils Next-Gen CLA Sedan with Advanced EV and ICE Technologies

Mercedes-Benz has announced the next-generation CLA sedan, which will replace the A-class as the brand's entry-level model. Built on the new MMA platform, the CLA will support both all-electric and internal combustion powertrains.

The electric variant will feature an 800 V architecture, enabling DC fast charging speeds of up to 320 kW. It will offer battery packs up to 85 kWh, with a rear motor delivering 268 bhp and a two-speed transmission for enhanced efficiency. Standard rear-wheel drive will be complemented by a front motor in all-wheel drive models, activating only when needed.

For internal combustion options, the CLA will introduce a new generation of 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engines, available in three outputs: 134 bhp, 161 bhp, and 188 bhp. These models will come with front-wheel drive as standard and optional all-wheel drive.

Additionally, the CLA will feature an electrified 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, integrating an electric motor for a mild-hybrid system, enhancing overall efficiency and performance.
