The 2024 Bucharest Best Comedy Film Awards celebrated talent on October 6, with Maia Morgenstern winning Best Performance - Leading Role for her portrayal of Silvia in Ca Fetele. Marian Râlea also took home the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award for his role as Mitu in the same film.
The awards ceremony took place at the Romanian Peasant's Museum Cinema during the festival's Closing Gala. This year’s event, themed "Comedy - the supreme sarcasm of life", showcased a diverse selection of international comedies, including titles like Love Again and Combat Wombat 2.
The festival featured ten films from various countries, evaluated by a jury comprising Adrian Paduraru, Andrei Duban, Andrei Zinca, and Alexandru Petrovici. The recognition of Morgenstern and Râlea highlights the growing prominence of Romanian cinema on the international stage.
