YouTube's Subscription and Advertising Revenue Surpasses $10 Billion in Q4 2024

YouTube's quarterly subscription and advertising revenues crossed the $10 billion mark for the first time in the fourth quarter of 2024. Alphabet, YouTube's parent company, reported that revenue from "Google subscriptions, platforms, and devices" segment, which includes YouTube subscriptions, rose 7.78% year-over-year to $11.63 billion in the quarter.

Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai attributed the company's performance to "our leadership in AI and momentum across the business." He highlighted investments in YouTube, including the integration of podcasts into the core YouTube experience, making it the most frequently used service for consuming podcasts in the US. Pichai also mentioned the success of YouTube Shopping, which now has over 250,000 creators on its affiliate program in the US and Korea.
