Rowan Atkinson Returns to Netflix for 'Man vs. Bee' Sequel Titled 'Man vs. Baby'

The celebrated titan of British comedy, Rowan Atkinson, is set to grace the streaming screens once more on Netflix with a brand-new, four-part comedic mini-series titled Man vs. Baby. This project serves as the much-anticipated follow-up to the successful 2022 hit, Man vs. Bee. Mark your calendars, as the premiere is slated for December 11, 2025. Atkinson will once again step into the shoes of Trevor Bingley, a character instantly recognizable for his knack for descending into chaos and navigating utterly absurd predicaments.
Developed by Atkinson alongside writer William Davies, the new series promises to retain the signature brand of physical comedy that Atkinson has perfected over his career. The narrative arc of Man vs. Baby shifts Trevor Bingley’s setting from the high-stakes world of house-sitting to a temporary role as a school caretaker during the Christmas holidays. However, this newfound, albeit temporary, tranquility is swiftly shattered. Trevor unexpectedly finds himself saddled with the responsibility of caring for an infant left behind after the school's nativity play, where the child was playing the role of Baby Jesus.
This entire predicament, which Trevor himself dubs the 'Baby Jesus situation,' forces him into a frantic juggling act. He must simultaneously manage the demands of childcare while also overseeing a lavish London penthouse where he has taken on a side job. The series is structured into four distinct episodes, each running approximately 30 minutes in length, offering bite-sized portions of mayhem.
The key creative team responsible for the previous success is reuniting for this venture. Atkinson and screenwriter William Davies are collaborating again with director David Kerr. Kerr previously helmed the production of Man vs. Bee and also worked with Atkinson on the film Johnny English Strikes Again. Joining Atkinson in the ensemble cast are Alana Bluer playing the role of Maddy, Sanetra Sarker as Georgia Akopyan, and Sian Thomas as Janet, alongside Steve Edge, Sanushia Fielding, and Sunil Patel.
Netflix formally announced the series on December 16, 2024, building anticipation among fans. The first visual glimpses of the new show were subsequently released in October 2025. Man vs. Baby is positioned to be a significant component of Netflix’s festive programming lineup for December 2025. While it functions as a continuation, the creators have taken pains to emphasize that the show is designed as a standalone special edition. This means new viewers can jump right in without needing prior knowledge of Man vs. Bee. The official debut date remains locked in for December 11, 2025.
