Streaming giant Disney+ has officially announced the premiere date for its forthcoming South Korean historical epic, titled 'Made in Korea.' This highly anticipated series, featuring A-list actors Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung in leading roles, is slated to debut on the platform on December 24, 2025.

The narrative of this intense drama is set against the backdrop of the volatile political climate gripping South Korea throughout the 1970s. It delves deeply into themes of unchecked power, systemic corruption, and soaring personal ambition. Taking the directorial reins is Uhm Min-ho, a filmmaker renowned for tackling the darker aspects of governance, evidenced by his previous works such as 'Inside Men' (2015) and 'The King' (2020). Notably, this production marks the first foray into the Over-The-Top (OTT) series format for the director, as well as for both Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung.

Hyun Bin is set to portray Baek Ki-tae, the formidable head of a department within the Agency for National Security Planning (KCIA). This character secretly orchestrates high-stakes commercial ventures, driven by an insatiable hunger for wealth and influence. Opposing him is the relentless prosecutor Jang Gun-young, brought to life by Jung Woo-sung, who is determined to bring Baek Ki-tae’s illicit activities to a halt. While the two stars previously shared screen time in the 2024 film 'Harbin,' this series will mark their first direct, antagonistic confrontation on screen.

The series is structured across six compelling episodes. The rollout begins exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States on December 24, 2025, with an initial launch featuring two episodes on the debut day. The subsequent episodes will follow a staggered release schedule: three episodes dropping on December 31, followed by single episode releases on January 7 and January 14, 2026. The overall production cost for this ambitious project is estimated to be a substantial 70 billion Korean won.

Demonstrating significant faith in the project's potential, Disney+ has already greenlit a second season, confirming the renewal well ahead of the first season's premiere. Production for the sophomore season has reportedly commenced, with a release targeted for the latter half of 2026. The supporting cast rounds out an impressive ensemble, including talents such as Woo Do-hwan, Cho Yeo-jeong, Seo Eun-soo, Won Ji-an, and Jung Sung-il.

For Hyun Bin, this role signifies a return to the small screen after a five-year hiatus. He stated that he was drawn to the project because of the inherent 'narrative power of the 1970s era' and the density of the script.
