Madrid is set to host the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix from September 11-13, 2026, a move celebrated by the Community of Madrid's president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

This event marks a significant step in the region's tourism strategy, with Ayuso highlighting the return of the world's premier motorsport competition to its home. The race is scheduled as the 16th event in the 2026 season, featuring a total of 24 races.

The circuit, located in the Ifema exhibition center in Valdebebas, Madrid, is already under construction and will span 5.4 km with 22 turns, including 'La Monumental,' the longest in the World Championship. This will be one of two Spanish races, with the Montmeló Grand Prix in Barcelona continuing as well.

Díaz Ayuso anticipates that the Formula 1 event, planned for ten consecutive years, will generate 8,200 jobs and contribute 450 million euros annually in revenue for Madrid. She views this as a prime opportunity to showcase Madrid's ability to meet extraordinary challenges and attract high-value tourists globally.
