Praia do Forte, located in São Francisco do Sul, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, Brazil, has been recognized as the best rural beach in a ranking by the International Center for Training in Beach Management and Certification (CIF Playas). This prestigious recognition highlights the beach's unique charm and appeal.

Praia do Forte is known for its calm, crystal-clear waters, making it a popular destination for families. It's located near the Forte Marechal Luz museum and attracts numerous tourists. The beach offers a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a relaxing getaway.

According to CIF Playas, rural beaches are characterized by their proximity to agricultural landscapes and a focus on the natural environment. These less urbanized spaces offer visitors a more intimate connection with nature.

Other Brazilian beaches also received recognition. Jurerê Internacional in Florianópolis was named the best urban beach, while Praia do Estaleiro in Balneário Camboriú was awarded the title of best village beach.

The ranking evaluated over 200 beaches across the Americas, Portugal, and Spain. The assessment was conducted by 71 specialists from 11 Ibero-American countries, using an international scientific methodology. Criteria included conservation, infrastructure, safety, protection, and environmental quality.
