The Pirineos Mountain Film Festival (PMFF) in Huesca is set to feature 24 short films from 16 countries, celebrating the themes of adventure, nature, and mountain sports. Running from February 17 to 23, the festival will award €6,000 in prizes to outstanding works that reflect contemporary issues such as environmental protection, family, and personal growth.

With nearly 1,000 submissions from 98 countries, this year’s festival showcases a diverse array of filmmakers from Spain, the United States, Chile, and beyond. Festival director David Asensio stated that the films will transport audiences to breathtaking locations while also prompting discussions on pressing societal topics.

Spain leads the competition with four entries, followed by Italy with three, and France, the UK, and the US with two each. Notably, one-third of the directors are women, highlighting the festival's commitment to inclusivity.

The PMFF aims to engage audiences not only visually but also intellectually, fostering debates around the narratives presented. The festival will culminate in the official launch of the 2025 Tour on February 22 at the Carlos Saura Auditorium in Huesca, with screenings planned across various cities in Spain and France.
