Iranian Foreign Minister Meets Omani Counterpart Amid Regional Tensions

On October 14, 2024, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi visited Oman, where he reiterated Iran's stance of not seeking war but being fully prepared for any scenario. Araqchi emphasized the need for the United States, European nations, and regional countries to understand Iran's position and urged the success of diplomatic efforts.

During his visit, Araqchi described the current regional conditions as precarious, suggesting the possibility of large-scale conflicts. He stated, 'Iran is fully prepared to face any potential scenarios.'

Araqchi also addressed the halted indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, attributing the suspension to the current regional crisis. He noted, 'There is no basis for these negotiations until the current crisis is resolved.'

In a joint statement with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Araqchi called for an immediate halt to the violence and aggression against Gaza and Lebanon, urging increased international humanitarian assistance to displaced persons.

Previously, during a visit to Iraq, Araqchi highlighted ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region to unite countries against threats posed by Israeli actions, which he described as detrimental to regional peace and security.
