Decart Launches Oasis: AI's First Real-Time World Model

Decart, an emerging AI company, has introduced Oasis, touted as "the world's first real-time AI world model." This innovative tool utilizes frame prediction to generate gameplay based on user input, simulating physics, game rules, and graphics.

According to Decart, users provide keyboard and mouse inputs, and the AI predicts the next frame in real time. However, Oasis currently lacks object permanence, meaning it does not retain information from previous interactions.

Decart envisions a future where AI can enhance entertainment platforms by generating content dynamically based on user preferences. Users might eventually guide gameplay through textual and audio prompts. Nevertheless, the current model is limited, producing a rudimentary version of Minecraft.

Decart aims to create a more interactive experience, where users could input imaginative scenarios, like encountering a pink elephant. However, achieving this level of sophistication remains a challenge.

The technology behind Oasis relies on Nvidia H100 cards, operating at 360p and 20 fps, with plans to upgrade to 4K using Etched ASICs. While AI-generated frame generation could improve gaming performance, the current iteration has yet to fulfill its ambitious potential.
