The 32nd edition of the Cáceres Spanish Film Festival, organized by the Rebross Foundation, will take place from March 1st to 15th. This year's festival emphasizes engaging young audiences with cinema through various activities involving over 5,000 students from the province. The festival will showcase ten outstanding films from 2024, supported by RTVE, including 'El 47,' inspired by an Extremaduran immigrant, and 'Volveréis' by Jonás Trueba. The festival will also feature the premiere of 'Ullate. The Dance of Life,' a documentary about dancer Víctor Ullate, who will attend a meeting with students from the Cáceres Higher Conservatory of Dance. The event will open on March 3rd with Paz Vega's directorial debut, 'Rita,' exploring gender violence. Other highlights include films addressing trans issues and adaptations of Spanish comics. Despite a budget reduction, the festival promises a rich program of screenings, exhibitions, and gastronomic events.
