Skylift at Top of the Rock: A New Architectural Marvel Offering Unmatched Views of NYC Debuts on October 25, 2024

The Skylift at Top of the Rock, the latest installation at Rockefeller Center, officially opened to the public on October 25, 2024. This innovative experience takes visitors over 70 stories high, providing breathtaking 360-degree views of the New York City skyline.

The attraction begins with a brief video presentation before guests ascend via an interactive elevator to the 69th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The Skylift, situated on the 70th floor, features an open-air, circular platform that is glass-fenced and slowly rotates, elevating visitors an additional three stories to a total height of 900 feet.

EB Kelly, Senior Managing Director at Tishman Speyer and Head of Rockefeller Center, stated, "Skylift represents the capstone of our reimagining of the Top of the Rock Observation Deck." The design incorporates over 90 LED pixel flutes that complement the Art Deco architecture characteristic of Rockefeller Center, creating a stunning visual experience both day and night.

Visitors can enjoy a vibrant light show at night as the entire installation illuminates, enhancing the overall experience. Tickets for the Skylift start at $35, available as an add-on to the Express Pass or Top of the Rock General Admission, which ranges from $40 to $61.

Tourists have expressed their excitement, with one visitor noting the unique feeling of being part of the city while standing above it, highlighting the Skylift as a thrilling addition to New York’s architectural offerings.
