Meta has announced the introduction of a Community Notes feature on its Threads app, aiming to replace traditional fact-checkers. This initiative aligns with the platform's ongoing updates across its social media applications, including Instagram and Threads.

According to developer Alessandro Paluzzi, the Community Notes feature is currently hidden within the Threads app for iPhone users. This feature allows users to write notes about any post, which will be displayed under the post if deemed helpful. The platform emphasizes that the notes will remain anonymous.

The functionality mirrors a similar system implemented on X (formerly Twitter), where Community Notes was previously known as 'Birdwatch.' Screenshots shared by Paluzzi illustrate how users can draft notes, with notifications confirming the anonymity of submissions.

Additionally, an Instagram help center page provides a waitlist option for users interested in the Community Notes program. The feature is set to launch initially in the United States, with plans for a broader rollout in the coming months.
