Hyundai Motor Group Partners with Nvidia to Advance AI Technology for Future Mobility

Jakarta, January 10, 2025 - Hyundai Motor Group has established a strategic partnership with Nvidia Corp. to develop advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies related to future mobility.

The partnership agreement, signed in Las Vegas on January 9, aims to enhance core mobility solutions, including software-based vehicles and robotics, while expanding the application of AI technology across its business operations.

Hyundai will specifically utilize digital twin technology to simulate the construction and operation of new factories in a virtual environment.

This approach will leverage the Nvidia Omniverse digital twin platform to improve manufacturing efficiency, enhance quality, and reduce costs.

Additionally, Hyundai plans to employ Nvidia's accelerated computing hardware and generative AI development tools to create a robust AI training framework utilizing large datasets.

The automotive group also aims to develop AI-based robots using Nvidia's Isaac robotics platform and create the necessary virtual environments for robot training.

Kim Heung-soo, Head of Global Strategy Office at Hyundai Motor Group, stated, "Hyundai Motor Group is undertaking various innovative efforts in areas such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, and smart factories, leveraging AI technology." He added, "Through our collaboration with Nvidia, we aim to strengthen and accelerate these innovations, positioning ourselves as a leader in future mobility."
