Greek PM Mitsotakis to Lead Investment Conference in London Amid Talks with UK Counterpart

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting London on December 1-2, 2024, where he will open the 3rd Greek Investment Conference organized by Morgan Stanley in collaboration with the Athens Stock Exchange.

The conference aims to emphasize Greece's fiscal stability and political resilience amidst rising political risks in France and Germany.

On December 2, Mitsotakis will meet with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in shipping, research, innovation, and tourism, along with discussions on migration policies.

The meeting will also address the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, impacting European dynamics.

While the topic of the Parthenon Sculptures will be discussed, it is not expected to be a primary focus. Discussions with the British Museum are reportedly ongoing, seeking a solution to ownership issues.

The Prime Minister will also participate in a workshop organized by the Blair Institute on Artificial Intelligence, discussing its application in critical areas such as healthcare and climate crisis.

During the investment conference, Greek banks and major listed companies will engage with 100 influential funds managing approximately $30 trillion.
