Honeywell Partners with Google for AI Solutions in Industrial Sector Starting 2025

Honeywell has announced a partnership with Google to implement generative AI solutions in the industrial sector starting in 2025. The collaboration aims to enhance productivity, reduce maintenance costs, and address labor shortages.

Vimal Kapur, CEO of Honeywell, emphasized the need for smarter processes and efficient asset utilization as the company faces a generational labor crisis. AI will enable less experienced employees to perform at levels comparable to their more seasoned counterparts.

The initiative will provide AI-powered agents to assist engineers and technicians, facilitating predictive maintenance and automating tasks. This shift from automation to autonomy aims to improve operational efficiency in various industrial applications.

According to Honeywell, 82% of companies in the industrial sector that consider themselves AI leaders are lagging in adoption, with only 17% having initiated AI plans. Kapur anticipates a significant increase in AI adoption in the coming years.
