Clinical Death Experiences: A Journey Beyond with Adam Tapp

Experiences of clinical death have always fascinated us mortal beings. Although they occur during life-threatening situations—when a person 'dies' for a period of time—we know very little about them. Most experiences differ from person to person but leave a profound impact on the lives of those who have had them.

While these experiences vary, common themes often include bright lights, tunnels, life reviews, and deceased loved ones. Paramedic Adam Tapp shared his experience on the YouTube channel Beyond the Veil, recalling a state of 'absolute peace'. He revealed that he was clinically dead for over 11 minutes after being electrocuted during a woodworking project. As doctors worked to restart his heart, Tapp claims he embarked on a 'spiritual journey that changed his perspective on life.'

“I felt like I was falling for years,” he recounted. “Then it was as if I woke up from a slumber in a place where I had always belonged.” Describing the realm he encountered as 'perfect blackness of ink' akin to 'deep space', he said: “I saw spherically, from one point outward. It was as if I had just become a point of consciousness. And I wasn’t dead; I wasn’t anything... I just felt perfectly absolute bliss.”

Tapp then recalls becoming one with the 'fabric of the universe', calling this experience 'perfect' and a 'natural progression' in the cycle of life. However, this experience abruptly ended when the paramedic experienced a 're-shock' he believes was from defibrillation.

After emergency services managed to save his life, Tapp was in a coma for eight hours and later woke up in the hospital, unaware of how much time had passed. Upon regaining consciousness, Tapp remembered being hyper-aware of his body and going through a phase of feeling as if his life 'wasn’t real': “I was left with this miraculous feeling that this is just a phase and that a return to the source of everything follows.”

Tapp emphasized that this experience led him to become 'deeply spiritual': “Something changed in me; I’m not the same anymore, and I now think that death is very likely the most natural thing that happens. I believe death itself is simply a transition.”
