Baidu to Launch Smart Glasses Competing with Ray-Ban Meta

Baidu is set to unveil its new smart glasses next week at the Baidu World event, aiming to compete directly with Ray-Ban Meta. The glasses will feature integrated cameras for photos and videos, and users will be able to interact with them using voice commands.

The device will prominently feature Baidu's chatbot, Ernie, although specific AI functionalities remain unclear. Reports suggest that Baidu's smart glasses will be priced lower than Ray-Ban Meta's $299.

Developed by Baidu's hardware division, Xiaodu, the glasses are expected to be available by early 2025. Baidu, a major Chinese tech giant, has been focusing on AI for years but has faced stiff competition, particularly from ByteDance's Doubao chatbot.

This upcoming launch highlights the growing interest in smart glasses, with other companies like Xiaomi also entering the market with innovative designs.
