In 2025, Meta plans to significantly expand its lineup of smart glasses, introducing new models with enhanced features and designs. According to internal documents, the company aims to release six new AI-powered wearable devices, including sports glasses under the Oakley brand and a premium model codenamed Hypernova, featuring a built-in display for notifications and interactions with a virtual assistant. These developments are part of Meta’s strategy to strengthen its position in wearable technology and artificial intelligence.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that sales of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have surpassed one million pairs, highlighting growing consumer interest in such devices. The company is actively investing in augmented reality technology and plans to further expand its smart glasses lineup in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, the manufacturer behind Ray-Ban and Oakley brands. The Hypernova model will include a display for showing notifications and AI responses, along with gesture control and real-time translation capabilities.

According to market forecasts, the virtual and augmented reality sector is expected to continue growing by the end of 2025. Meta aims to capture a significant share of this market with its innovative products and expanding range of smart glasses.
