Edited by: Svetlana Velgush

The Solar & Storage Expo Andhra Pradesh 2026 officially drew to a close today, February 9, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the region's energy landscape. This second edition of the event has solidified its reputation as a pivotal platform for advancing solar power and energy storage solutions within the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Hosted at the prestigious Novotel in Vijayawada, the gathering was widely recognized as the most influential assembly of solar and storage industry leaders in the state. The venue served as a vibrant hub for innovation, where stakeholders converged to discuss the future of sustainable infrastructure and the evolving energy transition.

Over the course of two days, this comprehensive conference, exhibition, and awards ceremony attracted more than 300 industry experts. The diverse attendee list included government officials, nodal agency representatives, specialized consulting firms, and major financial institutions. The exhibition floor featured over 25 prominent exhibitors, while the conference program was enriched by insights from more than 20 expert speakers. Furthermore, the event celebrated excellence with over 30 nominees vying for prestigious industry awards.

The expo's scope was remarkably broad, covering critical sectors such as utility-scale solar projects, advanced energy storage systems, and rooftop installations. Discussions also delved into the commercial and industrial (C&I) segments, agrivoltaics, and strategic frameworks for open access and Net-Zero pathways. This wide-ranging focus reflects Andhra Pradesh's holistic strategy toward developing a robust renewable energy ecosystem.

Technical sessions provided deep dives into essential government initiatives, including the PM KUSUM and PM Surya Ghar schemes. Participants engaged in detailed dialogues regarding solar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) challenges and the roadmap to achieving Net-Zero targets. High-level panel discussions focused on scaling utility-scale infrastructure and accelerating the adoption of rooftop solar, aligning directly with the Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) policy introduced in October 2024.

The event was graced by Shri M. Kamalakar Babu, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of NREDCAP (New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh), who served as the Guest of Honor. Since its inception in 1984, NREDCAP has been the state's primary agency for implementing renewable energy programs. His participation highlighted the expo's alignment with the state’s ambitious goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2047. Under the ICE policy, the state aims to attract investments totaling 10 lakh crore rupees (approximately 119 billion USD) and expand its renewable energy capacity to over 160 GW.

Beyond the technical sessions, the forum provided invaluable opportunities for strategic B2B networking and knowledge sharing. A highlight of the closing day was the presentation of the Andhra Pradesh Energy Excellence Awards, which were determined through rigorous research by the SolarQuarter Research team. These accolades recognize the most impactful projects and innovations in the state's energy sector, fostering a competitive spirit that drives further investment and shapes the future of clean energy in Andhra Pradesh.
