Edited by: Svetlana Velgush

The 10th edition of Agroglobal, Portugal's premier agricultural and forestry exposition, is scheduled to take place from September 9th to 11th, 2025, at the CNEMA in Santarém. This significant biennial event serves as a crucial hub for professionals in the agricultural and forestry sectors, offering a comprehensive overview of the latest technological advancements and sustainable practices shaping the future of farming.

Agroglobal 2025 will feature three days of live demonstrations showcasing cutting-edge agricultural practices and technologies in operational fields. The fair will host hundreds of national and international exhibitors, including leading global companies in fertilizers, seeds, crop protection products, and agricultural machinery, as well as technology firms, scientific institutions, and emerging startups. This broad participation highlights the sector's dynamic evolution and commitment to innovation.

A key collaboration for this year's event is with Quinta da Alorna, which has provided approximately 60 hectares of land. This space will be dedicated to the practical demonstration and testing of annual crops such as corn, tomatoes, and potatoes, allowing visitors to witness firsthand the application of advanced techniques in a real-world agricultural setting. This hands-on approach is central to Agroglobal's mission of promoting the practical understanding and adoption of new technologies.

The fair will also serve as a vital forum for addressing the sector's most pressing challenges through insightful discussions and seminars. A notable session, "Agriculture as a Driver of National Competitiveness," is scheduled for September 11th at 10:30 AM in the Auditório Vida Rural. This discussion is expected to explore strategies for enhancing Portugal's agricultural output and market position, reflecting the nation's increasing focus on agricultural modernization and export potential.

Research indicates that Portugal's agricultural sector is increasingly embracing technology, with a focus on precision farming, digitalization, and sustainable practices to meet EU Green Deal targets and improve competitiveness across Europe. The adoption of AI and robotics, for instance, is viewed as a key driver for increasing yields and efficiency, even amidst challenges like labor shortages and climate change.

Entry to Agroglobal is free but strictly reserved for industry professionals. Interested parties are encouraged to request their professional invitation by emailing geral@agroglobal.pt. Agroglobal 2025 reaffirms its commitment to fostering innovation, championing sustainability, and cultivating collaboration among all stakeholders in the agricultural production chain, aiming to be a catalyst for the continued growth and professionalization of Portugal's vital agricultural sector.
