Brussels, July 1, 2025 — The European Commission and Ukraine reached an agreement to modernize trade relations on June 30, 2025.

This agreement replaces the temporary post-war framework with a more enduring, yet more modest arrangement.

The deal includes the gradual alignment of agricultural standards by 2028, protection mechanisms for EU markets, and adjusted import quotas for sensitive products.

This follows the termination of temporary autonomous trade measures on June 5, 2025.

The new deal aims to protect both Ukrainian exporters and EU farmers, furthering Ukraine's integration into the European internal market.
