Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - April 28, 2025. Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono urged significant reforms to global institutions at the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting (FMM).

Sugiono emphasized the need for a more inclusive, transparent, and responsive global governance system. He highlighted the importance of structural changes, including expanding the UN Security Council membership, and urged BRICS to play a more active role in promoting peace and upholding global norms.

Indonesia announced its intention to join the New Development Bank. Sugiono also advocated for strengthening the WHO and reforming the WTO to better serve all member states, pushing for multilateral reform to realize a more inclusive and trustworthy system to respond to global challenges.
