The Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and EMURGO Labs, launched the SDG Blockchain Accelerator on April 24, 2025, in Dubai, UAE. This global initiative aims to leverage blockchain technology to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The multi-year accelerator program will host two cohorts annually, each lasting four months. It will focus on capacity building, solution development, and ecosystem growth, supported by industry experts and Cardano's infrastructure.
The program expects to deliver up to 40 blockchain solutions aligned with the SDGs. It will also create an open-source resource hub and promote cross-chain collaboration.
Led by BGA Managing Partner Glenn Tan and UNDP AltFinLab members, the initiative will span five global regions. It will offer funding and strategic support to blockchain projects addressing the 17 SDGs.
BGA also expanded into Europe in January 2025, participating in the UNDP Brussels Roundtable. The roundtable focused on emerging technologies and impact entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans.
BGA is actively engaging in grassroots initiatives and strategic partnerships across Europe. The goal is to establish blockchain as a pillar of digital equity and innovation.
