June 2024, China: Topsoe and Zhongneng Yida have partnered to build a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant in Hebei province.

The facility will utilize Topsoe's HydroFlex® technology and catalysts. The plant aims for an annual SAF production capacity of 400,000 tons using used cooking oil (UCO) as feedstock.

The project is expected to avoid 930,000 tons of CO2e emissions annually. Construction is slated to begin in Q3 2025, with operations starting in H1 2027, initially targeting the European market.
