Colombia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Mines and Energy, DIMAR, and ANH, has approved 69 areas for its first offshore wind energy round. The nomination deadline concluded on January 31. Companies including Vientos Alisos, CI GMF II Cooperatief, Jan de Nul, Ecopetrol, PowerChina International Group Limited, CTG Colombia Holdings, Promesa de sociedad futuro OSW Colombia, and Deme Celsia Offshore wind, can now bid on these areas.
Approved companies can bid for areas up to 270 square kilometers, with projects needing a minimum installed capacity of 200 MW. The "Deposit of Offers" stage is projected to conclude by the end of May.
