Xiaomi Mijia Unveils AI-Powered Gas Water Heater Featuring Advanced Noise Reduction
Edited by: Tetiana Pin
Xiaomi, operating through its Mijia brand, has officially announced the launch of a new domestic appliance: the Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 Constant Temperature Zero Cold Water 16L. This device, engineered to deliver precise and instantaneous water heating, became available for purchase in the Chinese market starting November 30, 2025. Consumers can secure this unit through major e-commerce platforms, including JD.com.
The technical specifications highlight the unit’s capacity to manage 16 liters of water per minute. A significant selling point is its exceptional temperature regulation, maintaining accuracy within a tight margin of either ±0.3°C or ±0.5°C, depending on the operational parameters. Furthermore, the engineers have managed to shrink the physical footprint of the casing by 21% compared to its predecessor, making installation in various residential settings considerably easier. Central to its marketing pitch is the proprietary “Zero Cold Water” technology, designed to eliminate the frustrating delay often experienced before truly hot water begins to flow.
A major differentiator for the Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 is its focus on acoustic performance. The unit incorporates a sophisticated nine-stage noise suppression system, complemented by inverter control for the fan and a robust water pump. These enhancements, alongside a dual water servo mechanism, work in concert to significantly boost overall user comfort by minimizing operational noise. Interaction with the appliance is managed via a responsive touch panel, where integrated artificial intelligence algorithms dynamically optimize the heating process in real-time for peak efficiency.
This product release aligns perfectly with Xiaomi’s broader strategic vision: cultivating a comprehensive, interconnected smart home ecosystem. The water heater supports the Xiaomi HyperOS Connect platform, granting users the ability to manage settings remotely through the Mi Home application. This allows for temperature adjustments and mode changes directly from a smartphone. This connectivity strategy is consistent with the company’s ongoing rollout of other major home appliances, such as the Mijia 12-kilogram front-loading washing machine, which is also designed to integrate seamlessly into this unified environment.
Initially, the introductory price point for the water heater in China was set at 2299 yuan, which converts roughly to $323.60 USD. However, taking into account the national digital device subsidy program active throughout 2025, the effective final cost for consumers dropped substantially to 1928.65 yuan (approximately $271.52 USD). This pricing structure clearly demonstrates how Xiaomi is aligning its commercial objectives with national directives aimed at promoting the digitalization of household infrastructure. The corporation continues to aggressively expand its footprint within the major home appliance sector, signaling future plans for wider international deployment of its smart solutions.
