New Xiaomi smart glasses deliver open sound and up to 13 hours of battery life.

Xiaomi officially introduced its Mijia Smart Audio Glasses to the Portuguese market on January 15, 2026, in Lisbon, marking a strategic advance into the European wearable technology sector. This launch coincided with the regional arrival of the Redmi Note 15 series, signaling the company's commitment to broadening its AIoT ecosystem in Europe, a market where wearable technology is projected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 9.5% between 2025 and 2031, according to 6Wresearch.

The core of the new offering fuses contemporary fashion with sophisticated audio technology, providing an open-ear listening experience for music and telecommunications via integrated speakers within the glasses' arms. To enhance daily usability and address privacy concerns associated with open-ear devices, the glasses incorporate four integrated microphones and a proprietary algorithm that generates inverse sound waves, complemented by an anti-leakage membrane to reduce sound leakage during calls. Durability is addressed through hinges reinforced to support up to 15,000 flexes and an IP54 certification for resistance against dust and splashes.

Powering the audio components are two 114 mAh batteries, one in each arm, which collectively support up to 13 hours of continuous music playback. Xiaomi has segmented the offering into three distinct styles: the lightweight Titanium model, the Pilot-Style variant, and the Browline design. Lens options are customizable; the Pilot-Style model features UV400 protection, while the Titanium and Browline versions offer up to 25% blue light protection, with all lenses being replaceable with prescription alternatives. The Titanium model weighs 27.6 grams, designed for comfort through even weight distribution to reduce nasal pressure.

User interaction is managed through a configurable touch area on the arms via the dedicated Xiaomi Glasses application. The integrated speakers are engineered to manage wind noise effectively, offering reduction capabilities up to 4.5 meters per second during calls. The battery system supports rapid replenishment, yielding approximately four hours of usage from a ten-minute charge, with a full recharge cycle completed in about one hour. In the Portuguese market, the Titanium variant is priced at €199.99, while both the Browline and Pilot-Style models are set at €179.99.

This product introduction positions the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses as a technological alternative to traditional in-ear solutions, such as the concurrently launched Redmi Buds 8 Lite, which features 42dB active noise cancellation. The launch aligns with a broader industry trend seen at CES 2026, where smart glasses are specializing in audio enhancement rather than simple camera integration. Xiaomi's approach suggests that expanding its ecosystem with fashion-forward, functional wearables is a key component of its ongoing global expansion strategy across Europe.
