At IFA 2025, TCL introduced the Nxtpaper 60 Ultra, a new smartphone engineered with a keen focus on reducing eye strain through its advanced display technology. This device represents TCL's commitment to user well-being in the digital age, integrating a suite of features designed for a more comfortable viewing experience.

The Nxtpaper 60 Ultra boasts a 7.2-inch FHD+ display that incorporates TCL's proprietary NXTPAPER 4.0 technology. This innovative screen offers seven distinct eye-care features, including natural light display emulation, zero flickering, blue light purification, and a matte anti-glare coating. A dedicated "Ink Mode" button allows users to instantly switch the display to an e-ink-like presentation, further minimizing visual fatigue. TCL claims this technology provides a viewing experience as natural as looking at the real world.

Under the hood, the Nxtpaper 60 Ultra is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, a processor known for its balance of performance and efficiency. It comes equipped with 12GB of RAM, expandable up to 24GB via virtual RAM, and offers substantial storage options of up to 512GB. Powering the device is a 5,200mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging, promising a full charge in approximately 90 minutes.

The camera system is equally impressive, featuring a versatile triple rear setup. This includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. For selfies and video calls, a 32MP front-facing camera is included.

Running on Android 15, the Nxtpaper 60 Ultra integrates several AI-powered features aimed at enhancing reading and writing experiences. These include AI Outline, AI Q&A, AI Audiobook, and AI Podcast functionalities. The device also supports the T-Pen Magic stylus, a low-latency, pressure-sensitive accessory designed for intuitive note-taking and creative work, offering an S+ level stylus experience certified by SGS.

The TCL Nxtpaper 60 Ultra is priced at €499 for the 256GB model and €549 for the 512GB version. It is currently available in Europe, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific region. The launch in Europe saw a 9% year-on-year decline in smartphone shipments in Q2 2025, with economic uncertainty and eco-design regulations impacting the market. However, TCL's focus on eye-comfort technology positions the Nxtpaper 60 Ultra as a unique offering in a competitive landscape. In Latin America, the smartphone market also experienced a slight contraction in Q2 2025, with a preference for affordable yet feature-rich devices. The Asia Pacific region, meanwhile, continues to be a strong market, driven by increasing disposable incomes and technological advancements. TCL's strategic release across these diverse markets highlights its ambition to capture a significant share by addressing a growing consumer demand for healthier digital experiences.
