Here are the six apps included with an Apple Creator Studio subscription

The professional image editing application, Pixelmator Pro, has officially launched on the iPad platform, integrating as a central feature of the new Apple Creator Studio subscription service. This service consolidates Apple's suite of professional creative tools and is scheduled for an App Store debut on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. This transition underscores Apple's strategic move toward a recurring revenue structure for its high-tier software portfolio, positioning Pixelmator Pro as a vital element within this new ecosystem.

The integration follows Apple's announcement of its intent to acquire the Pixelmator Team in November 2024, with the acquisition formally concluding in February 2025 following regulatory review. The Pixelmator Team, established by brothers Saulius Dailide and Aidas Dailide in Lithuania, gained recognition for developing applications that balanced performance with user accessibility, often serving as a viable alternative to Adobe Photoshop. The iPad version of Pixelmator Pro has been rebuilt for touch interaction, featuring a redesigned workspace and comprehensive support for the Apple Pencil, including hover and squeeze functionalities. It retains advanced Mac features such as Super Resolution, Deband, and Auto Crop.

Apple Creator Studio is structured as a comprehensive suite bundling six primary creative applications: Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro (available on Mac and iPad), alongside Motion, Compressor, and MainStage (Mac only). The standard subscription is set at $12.99 monthly or $129 annually, which analysts suggest provides significant savings over individual application purchases, which could total nearly $700. Educational rates are available at $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year, and all new subscribers receive a one-month complimentary trial period, with sharing permitted for up to six family members via iCloud Family Sharing.

Subscribers gain access to exclusive enhancements across the suite, including a new Warp tool for layer manipulation in Pixelmator Pro and access to specialized mockups. The bundle also extends value to productivity software, incorporating premium content and generative AI features into iWork applications such as Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, with Freeform integration planned for later in 2026. For instance, AI capabilities will allow subscribers to generate formulas in Numbers or create presentation notes in Keynote. The iPad version of Pixelmator Pro requires hardware featuring an A16, A17 Pro, or M1 chip (or later) running iPadOS 26 or newer, while the Mac counterpart requires macOS 26, indicating a focus on leveraging recent processing architecture.

The Mac versions of Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro remain available as one-time purchases on the Mac App Store, though certain features may be exclusive to the subscription tier. The introduction of Pixelmator Pro to the iPad ecosystem marks the first major product advancement since Apple integrated the Pixelmator Team, significantly broadening the availability of professional-grade image editing on the tablet platform.
