Google Meet now features real-time translation between English and Spanish, powered by artificial intelligence. The announcement was made at Google I/O, showcasing the tool's ability to maintain the speaker's original voice. This advancement aims to revolutionize video calls by bridging language barriers. According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, this feature helps people overcome linguistic barriers "almost in real time". It preserves the speaker's voice, tone, and expression. The demonstration featured a conversation between an American and a Latina speaker, each speaking in their native language. The new feature is currently available in beta for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google plans to expand language support in the coming weeks. Google Meet is a video-calling platform designed for virtual meetings, classes, and interviews.
