The Latin Recording Academy has introduced new categories, including Best Roots Song, and a new Visual Media direction with the category Best Music for Visual Media, to further acknowledge the evolving landscape of Latin music.

The global influence of Latin American music continues to grow. According to RIAA data, in 2023, revenues from Latin American music in the U.S. reached a record $1.4 billion, a 16% increase from the previous year. Streaming accounts for over 98% of total Latin American music revenue, with paid subscriptions contributing more than two-thirds of the total. Latin American music, along with country, is one of the fastest-growing genres in the U.S. Further growth is expected in 2025 due to new releases and the popularity of artists like Bad Bunny.
