New Allegations Surface Against Ellen DeGeneres Regarding On-Set Conduct and Producer's Child's Surgery

A former cameraman for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has come forward with serious allegations concerning the talk show host's alleged animosity towards male staff and a disturbing incident involving a senior producer's child. The cameraman, who wished to remain anonymous, claims DeGeneres pressured a producer to delay their child's critical surgery to accommodate the show's filming schedule. The child was scheduled for a bone marrow transplant during the Christmas holiday week, and the producer was allegedly asked to reschedule the procedure to avoid disrupting the show's taping.
This alleged event adds to previous criticisms of DeGeneres' on-set behavior, which surfaced in 2020. Numerous current and former employees accused the show of fostering a toxic work environment, citing issues of harassment, intimidation, and racism. An internal investigation by WarnerMedia at the time led to the dismissal of three senior producers. DeGeneres subsequently addressed these concerns in a letter to her staff, expressing regret and a commitment to improving the workplace culture.
Following the conclusion of her long-running show in 2022, DeGeneres has reflected on the impact of these allegations. In her 2024 Netflix special, "For Your Approval," she discussed the devastation caused by the controversy and her desire to move forward. As of August 2025, DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have relocated to the Cotswolds in England, with no immediate plans to return to the United States. Their move was reportedly influenced by the U.S. election outcome, with DeGeneres stating a preference for a simpler way of life in the English countryside.
These recent allegations from the cameraman, who worked on the show for over a decade, shed further light on the alleged pettiness and demanding nature of the production. The report also mentioned DeGeneres' apparent dislike for chef Gordon Ramsay and claims that producers discouraged former staffers from finding new employment after leaving the show. The initial bullying allegations against the show first surfaced publicly in 2020, with employees alleging a culture where workers faced repercussions for taking bereavement leave, among other grievances. The show's eventual cancellation in 2022 followed a significant drop in ratings, attributed to the mounting controversies surrounding the workplace environment.
