Leighton Meester has publicly addressed the death of her former "Gossip Girl" co-star, Michelle Trachtenberg, for the first time since her passing. "She was a wonderful, talented person, and everyone loved her," Meester stated in a recent interview with Flaunt magazine.
Meester, 39, expressed her sadness, saying, "It's very, very sad for everyone who knew her." She also spoke fondly of the enduring legacy of "Gossip Girl," noting its continued relevance and impact.
Trachtenberg, who played Georgina Sparks, passed away in February at the age of 39 due to complications from diabetes. Many "Gossip Girl" cast members shared tributes on social media, but Meester remained silent until now.
In the same interview, Meester also touched upon the loss of her Los Angeles home in the January wildfires. "It's not a one-day event that ended," she explained, describing the experience as an ongoing roller coaster.
She added, "The best thing I can do is just take it one step at a time... I am not alone."
