Eva Libertad's directorial debut, 'Sorda,' has won the Latin American Critics Award for European Cinema at the Guadalajara Film Festival in Mexico. The film was also featured in the Ibero-American Fiction Feature Film section.

The award was chosen from a selection of 19 films by a jury of 33 film critics from 13 Latin American countries. 'Sorda' stars Miriam Garlo, who is deaf and also the director's sister, alongside Álvaro Cervantes, Elena Irureta, and Joaquín Notario.

This Spanish film is the first feature film to star a deaf actress. It tells the story of Ángela, a deaf woman expecting a baby with her hearing partner, Héctor. The film explores the challenges Ángela faces raising her child in a world not designed for her.
