Catalan actor Eduard Fernández has been awarded the 2025 National Film Award by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. The award comes with a prize of 30,000 euros and recognizes his outstanding career in Spanish cinema.
The jury unanimously chose Fernández for his exceptional work in 2024. He impressed with roles in "El 47" and "Marco," the latter earning him a Goya Award for Best Actor.
Fernández also debuted as a director with the short film "El otro." The award ceremony is typically held at the San Sebastián Film Festival. Previous winners include Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas.
