The Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris will host the exhibition "Paul Poiret: Fashion is a Feast" from June 25, 2025, to January 11, 2026. This major retrospective is dedicated to Paul Poiret (1879-1944), a leading figure in Parisian haute couture at the beginning of the 20th century.
Poiret, known as the liberator of the female body, revolutionized fashion by removing corsets and introducing innovative designs. The exhibition explores Poiret's contributions to fashion, decorative arts, perfume, celebrations, and gastronomy.
Visitors can explore 550 works, including clothing, accessories, and decorative arts, highlighting Poiret's lasting influence. The exhibition reveals his creative genius and his impact on contemporary fashion designers, from Christian Dior to Alphonse Maitrepierre. Marie-Sophie Carron de la Carrière, the museum's chief curator of heritage, is organizing the show.
