Expo 2025 Osaka Highlights Global Fashion Harmony with SOROYURU

Edited by: Екатерина С.

Expo 2025 Osaka is showcasing a vision of global unity and sustainable style through its "Unified Diversity Fashion Show – SOROYURU." The event, held at the Wasse Exhibition Hall, featured ethnic costumes crafted from Comfiknit's innovative fabrics, presented by models from various nations. These designs subtly integrated elements of national attire, embodying the "SOROYURU" concept, which translates to "gentle coordination" and "relaxed unity."

This initiative is a collaboration between Hong Kong-based fabric innovator Comfiknit and Japan's SteAm Design House, aiming to foster sustainable fashion practices. Comfiknit's multi-layer fabrics, developed with research from institutions like MIT and Nagasaki University, are engineered for advanced micro-climate management. The SOROYURU fashion show featured models from Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Brazil, Italy, France, Jordan, Canada, and Liberia. Renowned designers Shinshiro Mizuno, known for his work with Givenchy and Alexander McQueen, and Thresia Mareta, founder of the sustainable brand LAKON, contributed to the collection. The SOROYURU concept emphasizes empathy and unity across diverse cultures. Visitors can find a limited-edition SOROYURU T-shirt collection at the Expo's Jellyfish Pavilion and Comfiknit apparel at E Salon in Osaka. Mizuno Corporation, a sports apparel company, also continues its commitment to sustainability, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050.
