Asus Foresees AI PC Dominance: Over 50% of Shipments by 2027

Edited by: Olga Sukhina

Asus anticipates that AI PCs will constitute more than half of all PC shipments by 2027. This projection comes from Eric Chen, Senior Corporate Vice President at Asus, during the recent Computex trade show.

While the current market share of AI PCs remains in the single digits, Chen believes the primary hurdle is demonstrating the tangible benefits of AI PCs to users. He highlighted Asus's internal use of AI to optimize business operations, specifically reducing paperwork processing time from 200 hours to a mere 3 hours.

Asus is also expanding its commercial PC offerings to better compete with industry giants like Dell and Lenovo. The company aims to narrow the gap with market leader Lenovo, driven by aggressive plans in the commercial sector. According to IDC's figures for 2024, Asus held approximately 7% of the worldwide PC market share.
