Telegram's plan to integrate Grok, xAI's chatbot, is now uncertain. This follows Telegram CEO Pavel Durov's announcement of a $300 million deal, which Elon Musk has publicly denied.
Durov stated on May 28, 2025, that an agreement was reached with Musk for a one-year partnership. This would allow Telegram users access to Grok's AI features. The deal included cash and equity from xAI, along with a share of xAI subscription revenues via Telegram.
However, Musk countered Durov's announcement, stating that 'no deal has been signed'. Durov then clarified that the agreement was in principle, pending final documentation. The integration was expected to roll out in June 2025, offering features like threaded chats and smart text editing.
