Shanghai-based robotics start-up Agibot (Zhiyuan Robotics) plans to produce 3,000 to 5,000 humanoid robots in 2024, matching Tesla's Optimus project target. This represents a significant increase from fewer than 1,000 units in 2023. Founded in 2023, Agibot operates in Shanghai's Lingang New Area and is expanding with a new plant in Pudong. The company's product line includes Yuanzheng, Genie, and Lingxi robots. As of January, Agibot produced 1,000 robots, including 269 wheeled and 731 bipedal units. The company has completed eight funding rounds, with a valuation of approximately 10 billion yuan. Agibot is also addressing data scarcity by operating a data collection center in Shanghai, generating 50,000 motion data records daily.
