Pisa is set to celebrate its status as a 'Cat Friendly' city with the return of the 'Pisa Cat Friendly' event. From May 30th to June 1st, 2025, the city's historic center will transform into a hub of feline-focused activities. The event is organized by Animalissima and Confesercenti Pisa, with support from the Camera di Commercio Toscana Nord Ovest.
This three-day event includes meetings, seminars, exhibitions, and a film screening at Cinema Odeon. A highlight is Saturday afternoon when cats and their owners are welcomed in the city's shops. The initiative aims to promote cats beyond traditional settings, integrating them into the urban environment.
Fabrizio Di Sabatino, president of Confesercenti Pisa, emphasizes the event's unique nature, bringing together businesses, veterinarians, local associations, and cat enthusiasts. The goal is to solidify Pisa's reputation as a cat-friendly destination, offering a vibrant atmosphere for locals and tourists alike. Visitors can enjoy discounts on monuments and attractions in Pisa and its surroundings with a special card. Events include seminars such as 'Felini in armonia: interazione e benessere per tutti' on May 30th, breeders in historic shops on May 31st, and artist Veronica Pia creating drawings. A seminar titled 'Gatti sotto le stelle' will be held on May 31st, followed by a guided tour of the Walls of Pisa. On June 1st, a breed cat show and medieval games will take place.
